Terms of Service

These terms cover your use of Startline. Using the product means you agree to them. Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect and how to delete it.

Who can use Startline

• You must be at least 13 years old to create an account or submit a player's information. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
• If the player is under 18, a parent or guardian must set up and supervise the account, and agrees to these terms on the player's behalf.
• We ask for a graduation year during setup. A class that would put the player under 13 cannot be selected or saved, and if we learn the player is under 13 we will close the account and delete its data.

What the service is — and isn't

Startline is software that helps you run a recruiting process: it scores where a player fits, provides roster and program analytics, and helps you organize coach outreach.

• We provide a list and a process. We do not place players and we do not guarantee tryouts, offers, roster spots, scholarships, or any recruiting outcome.
• Fit Scores and analytics are informational estimates from available data, not promises. Recruiting decisions are made by coaches, players, and families — not by us.
• Some features use AI to draft or restyle text. You are responsible for reading every draft before you send it; we never send email to coaches on your behalf.

Your account

• Provide accurate information and keep your login secure.
• Younger players should use the product with a parent or guardian.
• Use the product for your own recruiting; don't scrape, resell, or misuse the data.
• If your club provides your account through a club plan, the club's director can see your progress (not your emails or which schools you're talking to), as the Privacy Policy describes.
• You can delete your account and its data at any time from your Profile, or by emailing us.

Plans, billing, refunds, and cancellation

• There is a free plan and a paid plan, Startline Pro, billed through Stripe. You can buy Startline Pro two ways: the Recruiting Season Pass, or a monthly subscription.
• The Recruiting Season Pass is a one-time payment of $99 for 12 months of Startline Pro, starting the day you buy it (or, if you already have Startline Pro, the day your current plan ends). It doesn't renew, and we won't charge you again. When it ends, your account goes back to the free plan unless you choose to buy another season.
• If you ask within 14 days of buying the Recruiting Season Pass, we'll refund it in full — email ricky.ybarra@getstartlineapps.com. After 14 days it is non-refundable.
• The monthly subscription ($20/month) renews every month until you cancel. You can cancel anytime; you keep access through the month you already paid for, and you won't be billed again.
• Deleting your account cancels a monthly subscription immediately, and you won't be billed again. It also ends a Recruiting Season Pass; a refund within 14 days of purchase is still available by email.
• Prices shown in the app at the time of purchase govern.

Acceptable use

Don't use Startline to harass coaches or clubs, send spam, or misrepresent a player. Outreach tools are for genuine, personalized contact.

Disclaimers and liability

The service is provided “as is.” To the extent allowed by law, we're not liable for recruiting outcomes or for indirect or consequential damages arising from use of the product.

Changes

We may update these terms; we'll update the date above and, for material changes, give notice in the app.
